Let me explain - if you make a Confucius joke, then a funny one is- "Confucius say- Man who stands behind car is exhausted". That is still (somewhat) funny. Here we make a play on words to create an absurd analect, as proposed by a wise ancient philosopher. This may cause you to laugh. A laugh is a sound that comes from the back of your throat when you hear something funny.

 

If the joke is only about how someone speaks, then it's just not funny. Sorry if I've hurt your feelings.
