Geoff13 Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Hi all. Having recently moved to Perth does anyone know of any Drifters for hire nearby. I am south west of Perth. If there are no drifters, are there any RAA hire aircraft nearby.

poteroo Posted May 25, 2021 Posted May 25, 2021 Ask the RAAus flying school at Muchea. Could be one hangared at Bindoon, Calingiri, Northam. Have pretty much been superseded by faster, full cabin types because of distances, winds in WA. Also, the 'market ' is much more developed these days, and also is heeled enough to be able to acquire higher priced types. 1
facthunter Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 I think you would have to search intensely to find "hireable" Drifters or Thrusters. The early 90's was their time. If you dig one out that hasn't been used for a while fly it at a place with paddocks all around or clean and service the fuel system meticulously. Two stroke power is rare these days.
