red750 Posted October 26, 2019 Posted October 26, 2019 A new book has been released, written by Capt. Rod Lovell, recounting the incident on 1994 when he ditched a DC3 into Botany Bay seconds after taking off from Sydney airport. The book is titled Hero to Zero.

red750 Posted October 27, 2019 Author Posted October 27, 2019 As I recall the interview on Sunrise this morning, Capt Lovell said the left engine had failed and the right engine was only producing 70% power. The initial finding was pilot error, and he lost his licence. He went to the US where he regained his licence. Later discoveries of casual conditions cleared him of the pilot error charge.
