I see that John Corby is to receive an Order of Australia on 10 Sept. He designed the Starlet and the Kestrel.

 

The Starlet is the one plane that everyone who has sold one regrets it..

 

The kestrel is the alumimium follow on design and it does look really good. I saw one at Narromine last year. I think I could swap my Starlet for a Kestrel, but not sell it.

I think that Kestrel was the one on display last year at Narromine.

 

I was talking to the owner, I think it was Neill Bell, admiring the plane when an old bloke appeared, asked what it was and on being told said that he had done the original test flying on John Corbys' Starlet.. Much reminiscing!

Yes, Kestrel was at Narromine. Said old bloke would have been Peter Hodgens. Usually Lancair IV-P's it into Narromine.
