There are several live cameras and also the radar + camera + ATC that are entertaining, particularly on my big screen TV.

Highlights of the Sunday evening arrivals (Monday morning our time) were:

- the general congestion that had many GA arrivals going around and around in a holding pattern. One frustrated pilot said he had been around 27 times.

- the pilots who called low fuel to jump the queue

- the pilot who said he was sick and throwing up to jump the queue

- the fifty or so who were turned away once the airport closed, and had to go to their alternates

- the pilot who insisted he could get on the ground and turn the engine off before the airfield closed in 3 1/2 minutes. What sort of aircraft? He said a Reno racer and so the controller said go for it.

Still wish I was there.

I must have been monitoring at the same time too . The female controller who instructed one arrival “ gear down , nose down , slow down “ was amusing . There did seem to be an unusual number of “emergencies “ , all genuine of course .
