THE spot has to be Milawa, 5 minutes from Wangaratta airfield. Get permission ( no probs ) then fly into Brown Brothers Winery. 200 mt walk from their strip to gourmet meals and great coffee and the pax can sample wine.

Albury Airport has the Uiver Cafe in the terminal Building and the Australian Aviation Museums Display located a few minutes taxi ride away in the Albury Showgrounds which has free entry.   The web site is

You can also walk across the highway to Oporto.

Milawa +1 You can walk easily from the Milawa strip to the local pub. Good food and service.

If you can tolerate the Council, Scone now has the Kittyhawk Cafe in their WOFTAM Warbirds museum. Good tucker, reasonable prices and good people. You can park on the apron right outside and the gate code is the CTAF.

Places like Wollongong (has a restaurant in the terminal), Moruya (right on the beach) etc.

I was going to mention that but I was not game to.  We used to call it '"thread  dredge" Nev
