Lady Elliot Island - dumb question.

I was watching "Australia - life on the edge" and Lady Elliot Island was mentioned.

 

Cute little island made of bird poo with and airstrip.

 

Wow! Looks nice. Digs up ERSA. Can't find it. :(

 

It would be nice to fly into.

 

Then I looked on google maps. Ok, I don't think so.

 

Yikes! That is a long way off the coast!

 

Would we be legally allowed to fly there?

 

(Not that I think I now want to, but gotta ask.)

As far as I know Lady Elliot is only available to their own aircraft that fly guests in to the resort. From what I am told they previously allowed other aircraft to fly in, but after a couple of incidents they stopped that.

Thanks. I guess they woudln't want people flying in and out anyway.
