We've been getting full cyclonic systems instead if troughs , down south too.. Storms with lightning which normally is a spring and summer thing. Been studying weather all my life and can't recall this type of pattern in this time of the year. Pilots should be prepared for "unusual" weather to happen more. The systems are generally more active in nature..Nev

Centre of Qld - predicted for us 25 - 28 degrees with overnight frosts (below zero). I tell the tourists if they stay in bed until 9am they wouldn't know it was winter. 10am and 20 degrees, cloudless with 10kt winds, right now. Pity we haven't got a flyable plane.
