VW Prop Hubs ?????

Just Who in Australia supplies or makes VW prop hubs? It seems if we want one of these we have to buy one from USA.

I could take mine to an engineering firm to see if they'd do a quote, it dos'nt look complicatad. But it needs large chunk of steel to lathe down, Sainty speed works would do it in alloy, still expesive

I've read Bob Hoovers blog and downloaded a copy of the plans/specs for a hub and could possibly lathe one up myself on a neighbours lathe . Still, if I could buy one already made and ready to bolt on I would prefer to go that way.

So here's txt| On the plans, the hub is one piece steel,

 

I would try to make it two, by making the drive hub fit TO a collar before the prop spigot.

 

Save a very large / heavy steel blank . and use alloy with the steel baking plate.

Very similar to Bob Hoovers. He made his flange sepperate too and welded them together front and back. He then spun the assembly on a lathe and machined the hub up true. Flange was mild steel and the spigot was made in 4130
