I agree with DRZoos here - this seems to be a 'FaceBook' / Reality TV type WOW, look at us type news. Perhaps they are just trying to make more 'friends' and then they can wow us with 10,000 + , then 11,000+ to show how big we are becoming?? Seems as if we are just in the FaceBook age now and all the hype that comes with it, nothing more than that.

I wasn't able to download the September issue from ISSUU at all. Just froze each time I tried. I didn't have any problems with the earlier issues... so maybe there is a problem with this one?

May be we do need to contact everyone individually to try and get a definitive response. The Strategic Plan 2015-2018 states: Jan 2016 - June 2016 Commence roll out of training courses. Priority one training course is an L1 training course. Following successful delivery of this training course we will deliver three further courses; including L2, saftey management and instructor training. We then see a position posted for a Training Coordinator with a list of criteria, but nothing since. Has anyone been employed? We have heard that the new Technical Manual is soon to be released, which I assume will include what a L1 will, or will not be allowed to do, but we have not been told much about this. The '3 month trail' is still up on the website. So is the training course going to be in addition to the on-line test? So, are there going to be changes, or not? So many questions ... but who to ask?

The HGFA website (members area) has listed the following courses: WM/Rotax Maintenance courses Gympie and Kooralbyn, Qld and Albany, WA no other details, or dates as yet.

This is what I found too. Had to opt for 'other' in most cases. Seemed to be an awful lot of questions regarding safety and accidents. I am guessing it may be that they have lost a lot of recreational flyers and are trying to find out why, but then why so many questions regarding RA-Aus and what they have done for you?

I haven't seen anything mentioned as to how the recruitment is going for this position. Now that the flow-chart is no longer on the website, I wonder where this new position will fit in to the RA-Aus structure. Does anyone know if they have someone in the job yet? or whether they have started interviews?

All Rotax Agents have to run these courses, otherwise they lose their agency. The iRMT courses in Australia are run by http://www.bertfloodimports.com.au/maintenance-courses.html. The downside is that ALL the iRMT qualifications, regardless of where you do them only last 2 years and then you have to renew them! certainly good courses though - I am just saying you don't have to travel overseas as they are all supposed to be the same courses wherever you attend.

I agree that it would be a good idea to run it past the L2s when it is almost finished and before it is passed to CASA but anything in the Technical Manual which refers to Trikes should also be run past the HGFA. After all, we have the MoU ..... don't we?

Sorry ... I meant 'Allegedly' with me, as I hadn't bumped in to any of them. I had spotted their cards on the board so I knew they were around somewhere.

Anyone know what has happened to the Staff and Board contact lists? There used to be a flow diagram of the various departments, with contacts for each department but this has disappeared while I have been at Oshkosh. Also, the L2/L3/L4 lists have disappeared - anyone know why? I couldn't find them anywhere. Hopefully they are just updating the website, because surely it is important to be able to find a current L2 operating within your area?

Finally home I must say Virgin did a fantastic job, considering how many people were disrupted (just under 300). A lot had connecting flights so everything had to be re-organised for them and another hotel stay in Brisbane before heading off again. Still wouldn't put me off going again. Once you are there, you forget all about the flight. The sounds of the aircraft, the people etc. nowhere else has the same atmosphere. Once you are at home .... well, the memories. What more can I say.

Awful to hear of another accident. Condolences to family and friends. Does anyone know what aircraft it was? Is Jill back from Oshkosh? I know Darren is still away, so not sure who would be attending from RA-Aus.
