  1. I was suffering from a crook hip. ( Now replaced ) .

Taking large doses of pain killer pills .

Then told by my ' CFO ' I'll never get that RAA flight certificate .

now it's my eyes  , going to get measured for new lenses on the 23 this month, then that

365 day wait for the operation,  ( the letter came today ) so a long long wait & hope

I don't loose my eyesight by that time .

The 19- registration is possible if I  had any chance of getting that elusive certificate.

  2. Spacesailor said ! .

My aircraft was registered under " AUF " without problems . 95-10-1103 .

RAA was audited , then I was told , " when attempting to get " final inspection " .

out of specification  for 95- 10 category.

when attending an airshow , I approached a RAA official who told me to lie for the

    grandfather  clause " .

that would have left me open to a fine for ' unlicenced flight '  & unregistered aircraft .

At no time was I informed  by RAA about the impending change to my registration .

There is no " safety problems " with the Hummel design . In fact it appears a really same aircraft

To have your crash in .

It is also very twitchy for a low hour pilot .

  5. Mr Porche designed it well .

The longest production run of any engine,  to my recollection,  in the world .

Only needed " electronically controlled ignition " , to bring it to modern specifications.

    Cheap to run & maintain.

Half a litre of oil per change , and six litres of fuel per hour to fly .

" 10,000 miles is recommended oil change for cars " .

but most change at 7,500 miles .

If you object to VW-Porche look at Subaru . If you can carry that weight . 150 to 200 klgm

    38.5 kgs " air-cooled VW " ( 2 cylinder ) 36 hp .

  6. There is/was a fair few motors for the Hummels .

I liked the " McCoy four pot two stroke at 72 hp .

No problems with " underpowered " a bit of the opposite! , .flying to fast .

Had to have " wing fuel tanks " to carry enough fuel to go anywhere.

We still think about what could have been . ( 16 builders gave it away  ) .

  7. F D ,

My reply to the BIASED VIDEO !.

Facebook is a godsend for parents,  that can see their offspring when they're overseas .

It also cost's a fraction of ATT & Telstra obscene charges .

    First hand , $80 for 8 minutes Australia to England ! , forty years ago . ( $10 per minute ) on Telstra home-phone.

Their reply to my query  " pay or be disconnected " .

Cheaper on their public phone . That I used,  untill " optus " .
