Looks like Dareton Men's shed is the place to be.

Not only have they restored a CA-47 Sabre, they've now been given truckloads of 3 Vampire parts to restore a Vampire to static display.

There was quite a few Vampires sitting around at one time in varied states of decay.   They use a bit of runway to get airborne.  Nev

I think my first experience of seeing a jet fighter, was having the Vampires from Pearce air base (W.A.) roaring over our farm at low altitude in pairs, when I was about 6 (1955). They were pretty impressive to a 6 yr old.

A  were a Lot of them at Williamtown RAAF Base before the Sabres and a few RNAC Pilots had a fly of them. No  particular Vices and no Swing on  take off.  Not a lot of Endurance.  Goblin Motor. Centrifugal compressor Low thrust and doesn't stall. Nev
