Crewed down in CHC for a week last week and got to experience many quakes the largest being a 5.3 at 0120am. Deodorant, shaving cream and everything else fell from my bathroom bench. Started off as a slow quake and then got increasingly worse. Let me tell you that when you are sound asleep it's frightening stuff! We would have felt probably 5 quakes down there in total during our visit ranging from 3.somethings to the 5.3. I tell you, I admire the people down there for being able to live in that! None of us Aucklanders could sleep after that big one! I'm back for more in a few days. Below are some shots of this amazing city (one I have always loved) and the equally amazing people that live down there.
