Just seen on the news that all Qantas A380 aircraft will be named after famous aviators and not citys.

e.g Kingsford Smith, Reginal Ansett..............

747 aircraft will slowly faze out of service from next year.

Yea, the Classics (300's) first then maybe followed by the OJ's. I do hope they do a 'Wunala' on one of the A380's.

I think they should start naming them after us aircraft enthusiasts

You would surely have to start with:

Shep

Shep?I am thinking of another website when that name is mentioned........

Yes but Shep was well worthy of 'aircraft enthusiast' status.

Shep is a legend in the spotting community. This world was a better place when he was with us.

He is worthy...

it's a shame, all the classic 300's are being replaced by A330-200's.

So they will be running the A330 on the Sydney-Perth routes? Do you know when the 300's will have their final flights?
