Guest Chainsaw Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 Hey all, It's 4:00pm 5th June 07. A grey Herc (J model maybe?) just flew over heading from YSSY (Sydney) to ummm south west. Anybody know anything? Thanks, Chainy 2nd thoughts edit: Well it looked like a Herc from where I was standing. It may have been the Heavylift Cargo Shorts Belfast leaving Sydney. It was all grey underneath and I couldnt see a rego or the tail as it was at 12 o'clock neat.
TAA Student Pilot Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 The newer model Herk (J) sounds like a single engine machine, it almost sounds like a PC 9. The older ones get a hum up.

I only had a very short time to see this plane, so a positive ID was difficult. It was also noisy where I was at the factory. I think it must have been the Shorts.
Todd M Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I swear I saw a Hurc leave here around 3pm, I saw it ascending into the clouds and by the time it got to my house (not far away) it was far in the clouds.
