Qantas B744 VH-OJA Gear Down

It is reported that OJA flew from Sydney to Avalon for a C check with the gear down the whole way! Interesting.

I thought at a certain speed there would be a buzzer that sounds in the Cockpit to remind the Pilots to retract the gear. Unless they flew under this speed.

You can fly with gear down but at a reduced speed. But why would ot fly all that distance like that?
