what I have heard is this plane took a while to find no PLB on board why in the hell was it not 500 hundred dollars to save a life bull shit not carrying one

 

if its used at the start off an engine out and you get on the ground okay all that is needed is a phone call to cancel at leased the searching persons wont have to cover half of aust neil

No PLB? if it was an RAAus plane it would have to have a PLB, unless single seater. If it had 4 POB it must have been GA and therefore also required to have at the very minimum a PLB, but usually an automaticly activated beacon.

RAAus other than single seaters are required to have a PLB or better. All GA are required to have the same, but most have an automaticly activated beacon. Maybe the beacon was not activated, because the G loads were not enough.

The early ELT systems in GA usually had a remote activation switch on the dash, as the unit was usually installed down the rear somewhere.

 

Not sure about PLB installs?
