i just wish there was a more accurate way of judging maneuvers, other than looking at it from the ground, you would think a GPS track in 3D would show exactly how well the maneuvers were performed.

There are some apps around for recording them, I'll be trialling a new one soon. The next trick, not so easy, will be to do the score.
