EFB's: Could we make better use of 'Radial (from)'?

Those of you who have never had any problems with GPS are lucky. My garmin 196 has twice given me ridiculous readings, both close to bundaberg. Once heading for Bundy and seeing it on my nose the GPS said I needed to turn about 45 degrees to get there .

 

Again heading from Bundy, on track for Rods Bay and the GPS is telling me again to turn about 45 degrees. Both times, very little wind and I was sure of my location visually.
