Reported as being a Hummel Bird with engine failure after take off. Pilot in hospital.

How did the aircraft fair, does anyone have pics?

 

I ask because I am thinking of building one and am interested in the crash survivability of the airframe.

 

My thoughts are naturally with the pilot as well. I hope he/she recovers quickly. Any info on injuries?

 

Anyone aware of this actual aircraft and its engine?

I have read he is stable with head injuries and was conscious.

 

Was stated he was flying a new build Humelbird and was conducting test flights.

They are really small but quite strong, all metal. By the creasing of the wing there it's hit fairly hard. Bit sad after building for so long. Not the place to force land. Nev
