When's the best time of year?

Planning to fly around the continent next year, and finding that's it's a little hard to work out the optimum time of year for this (particularly in terms of wind and rain).

 

Thus far I haven't been able to find a website which offers historical monthly averages for either metric. Interested to hear how others have determined the best time for this?

May. Anticlockwise. The tropical 'wet' is finished, but foliage still green. Temps moderate. Winds favorable.

The tropical heat can be hard to handle. Dry season is the best up north.

Autumn pretty stable weather clear skies light winds usually. Go anti clockwise. Easterlies across the top and westerlies across the bottom of the continent.
