NZCAA approves 600kgs MTOW for Microlights

NZCAA has just authorised NZ Class 2 (two seat) microlights to operate up to 600Kgs MTOW where certified by the manufacturer / builder.

 

Previously this has been 544kgs.

Not a lot of "big stick" and a fair bit of "strongly recommended" in the official wording, amateur bureaucrats! In their attempts to fall in line with Australia and others , hope they don't become professionals or migration would cease to be an option.
