What do other instructors/FTFs use for the required model aircraft training aid?

 

My current one, of a Skyfox, is due for a major overhaul.

 

Does anyone have a good (affordable) source of model with moving control surfaces that is sturdy enough for the briefing room?

Go to a model aircraft shop and you'll pick up both ARF (Almost Ready to Fly) or complete aircraft with movable control surfaces quite cheaply. They sell them without engines/servos, and you'll have correct aerodynamic proportions.
