  1. Carbon torroid in the circuit and a good capacitor across the radio connections plus suppressed plugs. Never had a problem. (I run an XCOM radio and installed the recommended Capacitor...no probs.) Cig plus is also handy when camping as I can run small items off the Aircraft battery.
  2. Installed a standard cigarette lighter and used a USB plug in attachment (standard from supercheap or any car shop. Cig Plug allowed me to use other items (12V) when needed. Worked a charm. Also ran an auxilliary fuel pump off it in flight to transfer fuel from tank to tank. Plugged the Ipad into it in flight and no radio interference or other problems.
  3. This is the same arguement that if I join a motoring organisation then I should be able to hire any of the cars belonging to the motoring organisation...
  4. I agree with the 5 person committee, saves a lot of arguments, and allows Ian more time to develop other sites etc
  5. Turbo, its called apathy and its what they are relying on. Most members, in my view, only join RAA Aus because they have to in order to fly. I believe people like me who are annoyed about what is happenning, are in the minority because most other dont care which leaves the field open for exploitation, empire building and other bovine excrement. I agree turbo but apart from a general revolution, I refuse to take it you know where even thought the crowd are doing so. Rant over.
  6. Given that RAA Aus is trying desperately to take over all recreational aviation in this country, I would be concerned for all the other recreational organisations in the aviation field. Helicopters, gliders, warbirds, SAAA etc. EMPIRE building. procedes apace... Back to topic...this increase in weight, etc presages this I believe.
  7. When given a direction by someone purporting to have authority to make you do something, get the direction in writing quoting the appropriate article and signed by them in whatever capacity they call them selves. , then inform them that you will be seeking legal advice using their written direction as evidence. Sorts the wheat from the chaff very quickly......just sayin.
  8. I repeat, EMPIRE BUILDING!!..., think salaries, ambition, self promotion, etc., all most of the members want is someone to cover RECREATIONAL flying...not semi commercial, heavy, etc.
  9. If you have checked with Raa Aus then what is the point of your post. I understood that was the case but if I am wrong then so be it.
  10. Check with Raa Aus technical dept...
  11. The PERSON owning the aircraft must build a minimum of 51%. for it to be a 19 reg. Not for resale after completion as a 19. If a manufacturer builds an aircraft with a view to selling it, no matter where the parts came from, then 24reg.
  12. If you can drive a car and get a licence, what is the difference in flying a private aircraft. I can understand stringent limits on commercial pilots flying passengers, but why does someone flying locally for fun need the same limits. If you can get your car licence, why not a private flying licence.?
  13. Yep, theres idiots, officious idiots, lunatics and then theres CASA avmed. These guys are a joke. More people are killed on the roads in one year than people killed by medically obese pilots with more than 42 neck measurements through out the history of private flying. Inmates are running asylum now. Empire building procedes apace.
  14. The empire building proceeds apace...
  15. nope, I wasnt the one that posted this rubbish so I know where I am...lol
  16. then there are a lot of us stupid people out there that believe the stupid green are proposing stupid ideas and the stupid politically correct govt and stupid greens loving opposition are stupidly listening to them and their stupid ideas. Seems a stupid statement in the above post. ....
  17. so when do I cut my wrists, doesnt seem to be worth it with commercial greed being the mantra for life these days.
  18. on google earth there appears to be 2 airstrips, one beside the birdsville track and the other possibly the property one?
  19. Carol Richards and her Husband are very kind, hard working, genuine people with a great sense of community. The mammoth task of organising that Carol undertook was never acknowledged fully by RAA Aus. The flyins that she was involved in were the most successful ever staged by the Recreational flying community. An example where RAA Aus should hang its head in shame.
  20. Bit hard to find electron pumps in the bush but...just sayin
  21. Yep, squeezed out because she was successful and those idiots in power had their nose put out of joint because their ego's weren't being stroked. The events she organised were very successful. The old story..".how to fail at aeroshows"...get a successful one organised by some who actually cares, take it off her and give it to a committee to appease their ego's.. Well done idiots...
  22. Raa Aus had it, stuffed it, tried again with another player, now its stuffed again. Maybe someone will learn eventually. Its not rocket science, its about RECREATIONAL flying, not big business, empire building or huge sums of money. Dont tgive me the "move with the times" garbage, look what happens when big business, empire building and ego's get involved. Disgusted by the whole deal.
  23. I dont know, never having owned a brolly prop. I did buy new pitch blocks from the states in sizes 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 degree but finished up using the recommended 16 degree ones from brolga. (that being said, I had to enlarge the bolt holes in the American ones but that was simply a matter of running the correct drill size through the holes. The supplied Australian pitch blocks were fine.
  24. Deja Vue...Temora version 2. We had it, wanted bigger and better, a la big business...now we have a cluster.... and no airshow. Yep, thats good management and progress. Just sayin..
