Skip , I think from this discussion , you have the Trig 'On' and presummably squark 1200 , this only triggered by ATC radar or aircraft TCAS .
The SkyEcho transmits you position to other ADSB_In users and receives ADSB_In to display on your Nav tablet .
that's my take on it .
