Given that you don't need an engine to fly (gliders do quite nicely, thankyou:)) you would have to add George Cayley's coachman, Otto Lienthal and Percy Pilcher to the list wouldn't you"?:thumb_up:

Powered flight would have to be Pierce in NZ, a couple of months before the Wright Bros.
