Fuel Tank Filler Caps

I have noticed that the fuel tank filler caps do not seal properly and can leak when it is rough weather.I read somewhere in a thread that the standard rubber was too thin and that someone had replaced them.What type and thickness of rubber should I use for this?

 

Any help much appreciated.

Use Viton not rubber or you may well contaminate your fuel! I have said more in my PM, good luck David
