Jabiru J160 - Tacho Time?

Hi Everyone

 

I just have a quick question regarding the time shown on a Jabiru J160 Tachometer

 

What I am wondering is whether this time would work out to be less than the Hobbs Meter time?

Yes it should. with 'tacho time' the slower the engine runs the slower the clock runs.

I'm not sure that applies in a Jab. Ozzie. With traditional tachos, the greater the rpm, the faster the numbers revolve, but the jab tacho is digital and it seems to me that it starts when the master is turned on and vice versa.

this explains the function of a tacho timer if it does not function like this then it is not a 'tacho timer'
