Laser Flares in Australia

Does anyone know if laser flares are available and Legal in Australia? These are the emergency flares that emit a wide beam laser to attract searchers from a distance?

 

They are a safer alternative to pyrotechnic flares.

Never heard of them, are you sure they exist because any form of laser pointing up in the air is dangerous to search aircraft and their crews.

What a great idea!! I'd love to test one of these out one night if anyone has one! I can't see any problems with that then.

Brett, don't believe the hype. An AA powered hand held laser physically can not blind anyone that is miles away. Impossible. Laws of physics and all, you know.

 

And this one has even less effective power than normal pointers as it has a lens that projects line rather than a single spot.

 

Not to mention it is DESIGNED to attract the attention of your rescuers, not blind them in the process! :)
