just wondering?

 

is there any thing special about a set of David clark's h10 13 h, heli headsets which would prevent them being used in a open cockpit ultralight??

 

Whats the difference between passive and heli headsets ?

The electrical connectors are different.between heli and std. There are convertors available that will go from heli to std or vice versa. That said, unless its a lot cheaper its just another set of contacts to play up or get tangled in something.

 

My recommendation for an open cockpit. Try and see if you can cover the additional cost for active noise reduction in a headset, and make sure the mic can be either switched in or out, or there is a good VOX setup so its live only when you are talking. The point to that being, no use having noise cancellation if the mic puts all the noise back through sidetone injection.

go to the reviews section and you will find a review of a DC active noise cancelling helicopter headset. In the review it tells you about the adaptor for GA style plugs.
