Icom IC-A4 trouble programming

i purchased an old Icom radio from an associate that works for a v8 supercar team, im having great difficulty working out how to reprogram the unit as iv downloaded the manual and none of the process work. its just stuck scanning between 3 preprogrammed frequencies.

 

iv even tried

 

 

Reset the CPU before operating the transceiver for the first

• “CLEAR†appears briefly to indicate the CPU has been reset

 

 

 

 

 

can anyone help me out of this bind?

 

i pretty much just want it to do the UHF channels.
