The pilot of an Airtractor has been killed today (8th Sept 2025) whilst crop-spraying at Yeelanna, S.A., on the Lower Eyre Peninsula. No further details are available at this stage.

A Port Lincoln man has died in a light plane crash in fields at Yeelanna, north of Cummins, on the Eyre Peninsula.

The pilot has been identified as Jarred Wait of Port Lincoln. The company was working for, was Aerotech. He leaves behind a young wife and baby girl. A very tragic event.

ATSB Preliminary findings released yesterday. "The aircraft passed under the north-south powerline and was tracking toward a pole that supported the second line roughly 240m away. Recorded data from the flight showed the pilot conducted a right turn underneath the powerline after which the aircraft collided with terrain"
