Fatal crash C172 after possible prolonged auto pilot failure

Most accidents happen pretty quickly. Sadly this guy struggled for hours 😞

Don't see how it was the autopilot. The track makes no sense. There are multiple ways of disabling the auto pilot.

Could be something , ( clothing  ) caught in that rope drum .
