Max Volume Posted May 20 Posted May 20 I'm a 70 year old guitarist and interested in aircraft my whole life. My best friend was Mike Arnold (who died in 2015) who set a world speed record in an airplane he designed and built (the AR-5). It has the lowest measured drag of any man carrying airplane and currently resides at the Hiller Air Museum in Redwood City, California. He also designed and made the forms for a champion Formula1 air racer (the AR-6) and we posted videos about them on Youtube. Hope you enjoy my videos! 3
skippydiesel Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Great stuff - It puzzles me that the principals espoused/developed by Mike Arnold (& a few others), that allow for extraordinarily fuel efficient airframes, do not seem to be adopted, to any great extent, by small aircraft factory/kit aircraft manufactures (there are exceptions) Thanks😈 1
