Off subject but need help

Hi guys, I'm hoping there's someone out there more network literate than I am. I quite often find that when I open a video file the background sound overpowers the commentary, particularly music. Also, there are these annoying whistles and squeaks. Anybody know how to change my sound set up to overcome this problem. I've checked every thing I can in the Control Panel. My system has an on board Realtek AC97 Audio setup and I use Mozilla Firefox as my web connection.

Try a different browser and see if that helps..
