I like to keep the mains at the front. I would also assume that the longer the wheelbase, the easier to control; a tail dragger.

 

I did my first wheeler landing of my Corby yesterday, that was landing No 994. It surprised me how easy it was. My last wheeler was in a Thruster, last century. That is how much I like them.
