It looks like these blokes were fairly lucky in that they came down in a very lightly vegetated area of the Goldfields.

Burra Rock Rd is actually well South of Boorabbin, and passes by Victoria Rocks, before it heads SW towards the old Hyden-Norseman Rd.

 

There are big areas of light scrubby vegetation in this region - and some areas of fairly heavy trees. It appears fortunate they were able to pick a scrubby area for the landing. Good outcome, anyway.
