rollerball Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 'Theiss chosen because of their huge expertise'. I can only say that I'm deeply unimpressed by this. I'll keep my eyes open for when Aus has any navy assets to dispose of - presumably by then Theiss will have developed huge expertise in digging really, really big holes. 1 1
Jayke Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 We've got one as a gate guard here at wagga, along with a few other aircraft. I'd be keen to see Temora Aviation get their hands on one, not that it would ever happen due to the end of use agreement.

I think that you will find that Thiess already have that kind of "expertise", essentially, that is what they specialize in....creating and removing "holes in the ground".
Dave English Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 I think its a damn shame. They may have been made in the USA but they have been Australia's signature icon aircraft in the post WW2 years. I saw that a P51 sells for about $ 3 000 000 US these days. How many of those ended up in landfill?
