Hay guys

 

I am going to be starting my first RAA navs soon. I have done my GA navs up to my first Solo Nav but didn't follow thought.

 

I have chosen YCAB to YKRY I have never flown these legs but looking at WAC charts and Google earth it seems the terrain is rough. does anyone know a better route.

On a first RAA Nav, I would be expecting the instructor to be setting your route.

 

If he is leaving it up to you then you can fly up the valley to Kilcoy via Woodford, then overfly YKCY then flying a little south of a direct track gives you safe ground beneath you all the way.
