Great stuff Willie .. Thanks for sharing ..I've heard 2 sonic booms in my time , the first was performed by a F104 Starfighter of the WGAF during a show at RAF Fairford in England , and the second time was a little less dramatic , an Air France Concorde mid English Channel on a Westbound transatlantic crossing , we were on a boat at the time enroute to Cherbourg .. Both very memorable , so much so that my 35 yr old son still recalls the Air France Concorde almost 30 years ago now ..

Nice Dave. Mine were in the former Yugoslavia (which incidentally I will be visiting end of March). These were Russian jets. I think the best way to describe the sound is like a big firework mortar going off :D

Jeez, you blokes know how to make a fellow jealous. It's a sight and sound that I'm yet to experience in the flesh. Determined to make it happen at some stage in the future, though.

Cheers, Willie.
