New Jab engines

Hi All,

 

Has anybody got experience yet with the new roller cam followers in the latest version of the Jab engine. I was interested to know if the roller cam followers have reduced engine heating.

Hi Errol.

 

I have a new 3300 of the latest configuration, I don't have any flight hours on it yet but from the ground run, the engine appears a lot smoother than the previous versions. The idle was set really low from the factory for some reason so on the initial ground run, surprisingly it idled at 650rpm without a problem until I shut it down.

Thanks for that deadstick. That information is very encouraging to me because I am looking at buying a factory J170. I think the rolling improvements to Jab engines have resulted in a very good aero engine after so many years development.
