Cool, I suspect large ground effect vehicles would be much more economically viable than high speed trains for longer routes. These suckers are so big even a flock of Emus wouldn't bother them.

The Soviets spent squillions on The Caspian Sea Monster and other visionary projects. Australia spent the mining boom on tax cuts for the affluent.

Yes Russia today is at least visionary on taxation unlike Australia, a 13% flat income tax would be sensational here. Indeed such a measure may become essential to get the debt laden Australian economy cranking again.
