i actually quite like it! now if they could only substitute old Lead acid AA' batteries with the new Lithium Polymer batteries ' the thing could fly for hours!

Plenty of research taking place at the moment on electric flight. Powered Paragliders seem to be leading the way at the moment. A Nanolight trike has just flown on battery power. Commercial product looks like it is less than 12 mths away. most of the current research is based on the large scale electric R/C products.

 

Toyota Pirus and a LSA? quite feasable.

 

Peak oil, carbon taxes, and an unstable Middle East, could mean that this may be the way of the (near?) future.
