rdarby Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Besides checking NOTAMs has anyone seen Gympie airfield recently? I am due to do my second nav there on the weekend and want to know if it's both safe and won't get in the way of rescue helicopters etc. Any advice appreciated! Ryan
Ballpoint 246niner Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 My understanding is the airfield is OK and a check on NOTAMS made no mention of YGYM- be aware that many commercial airports have had changed operational classification due to to search efforts but this does not apply to Gympie. Our school tried a Nav today but low base this morning meant this was unsuccessful. Good luck with your Navex- tomorrow looks a good day.( for some)
