Guest rocketdriver Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 A friend and I are importing 2 aircraft, one with a Suburu motor and the other with a GM Saturn motor. Both engines have been drained prior to shipment and obviously I want to "wet their insides" as soon as possible after thay arrive. As both engines are derived from modern automobile engines, should I be using synthetic oil in them?
Russ Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 my 2 bobs..................from chap who rebuilds them............use the blended oil ( mineral / synthetic combo ) absolutely the better choice.
bushcaddy105 Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 And my 20c worth - my Subaru thrives on Castrol Magnatec, a semi-synthetic, ie a blended oil. The advantage is that it is much cheaper than a full synthetic, which MAY be better. Horses for courses?
