I have only looked at the drawings for this carb never had one apart on the bench but it seems that the workings are similar to most other compensating carbs.

the principle is simple really the atmospheric pressure acts on a diaphram that works on a mechanical device (usually a tapered needle) to regulate the amount of fuel to pass thru the main jet. this type of method is also used extensivly in the fuel control units for turbine engines.

One thing I've never managed to figure out, how do the Bing Carbs compensate for difference in air density? Thanks

Basically from my understanding, and talking with Wal from floods, they dont do very much in this area, its a bit of a hype.

Any my throttle is linked to the altimeter as soon as it gets to above 2k the throttle comes off :) so it really dont matter for me.
